LA INC. The Los Angeles Convention and Visitors Bureau is recognized as the city's official tourism marketing organization. The bureau is seeking a Community Manager with at least three years experience with Social Media and blogger outreach in the hospitality industry. The ideal candidate will be familiar with all relevant social networks, measurement tools, blogger outreach and online communities, and demonstrate their ability to manage the bureau's extensive digital networks.
Job Responsibilities:
- Develops and executes Social Media and blogger outreach strategies for locals, leisure travelers and convention delegates
- Tracks key metrics to illustrate performance across engagement, referrals and follower adoption, proving the effectiveness and added value of creating community online
- Develops and maintains Social Media Editorial Calendar
- Interacts and builds relationships with online communities and bloggers to generate visibility, awareness and visitor traffic to the bureaus website
- Coordinates with Partnership and Membership departments to integrate stakeholder efforts in the overall Social Media Editorial Calendar
- Attends member events to create Social Media and web content
- Develops and leads Social Media workshops and panels for members
- Manages Social Media contests/sweepstakes and fulfillment
- Promotes Social Media networks across multiple platforms to increase user base
- Responds to social networking and online community questions from locals, leisure travelers and convention delegates
- Develops a Social Media program of offerings for citywide conventions
- Uploads content and images to the Content Management System in order to connect social network users to discoverLosAngeles.com
- Coordinates ON LOCATION programs (LA Photo Tours and the LA Video Project)
- Reports to Director, Online Marketing
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in digital media, marketing, communications or a related field
- 3 years experience in marketing/communications, Social Media community management or a related field
- Strong knowledge of online communications strategies and tactics, usability standards, branding and latest digital technologies, tools and best practices
- Experience in tracking and analyzing key metrics such as engagement and sentiment
- Excellent writing and editing skills and the ability to write for a variety of audiences in a variety of formats
- Knowledge of Social Networks, online communities in the hospitality industry, content management systems and relevant mobile applications
In particular, LA INC. represents the LA destination to the meetings and convention industry nationwide; the international travel trade and traveler; the cruise passenger and cruise lines; the domestic leisure traveler; as well as the worldwide travel media.
LA INC. is a private, nonprofit 501(c)(6) business association contracted by the City of Los Angeles. It is staffed by 75 employees. With headquarters in Los Angeles, LA INC. has sales representation throughout the United States. LA INC. also maintains international marketing offices in alliance with Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) in Tokyo, London and Beijing. Though not part of city government, LA INC. is recognized as the citys official tourism marketing organization.
Salary: Under $65,000
