Note from TMD Board Chair, Javier Cano - May 2022

As we begin the second quarter of 2022, we are enthusiastically looking towards welcoming back business lost during the pandemic.  With every crisis there are lessons learned and our hospitality community should be especially proud of its increased collaboration among our TMD hotels of all sizes, and all regions as we worked together to find a collective path forward.  

As discussed earlier, we had the opportunity to educate our government partners and stakeholders on the hospitality industry’s ability to provide a safe and responsible experience for our guests assuring our public health and government officials that the industry supported their goals.  

Next week recognizes National Travel & Tourism Week, and the launch of California’s Tourism Month, and together we can be proud of our hotels uniting to amplify the importance of tourism as a job creator and economic driver for Los Angeles.
