LA -- essentially the mothership of moviemaking -- is welcoming one of the city's biggest silver-screen events this month, the annual Los Angeles Film Festival. Taking over Downtown June 17-27, this spectacular event boasts screenings of more than 200 films, including gala showings, narratives, documentaries, foreign films, shorts and more.
Highlights include festival opener The Kids Are All Right, a smart comedy starring Annette Bening, Julianne Moore and Mark Ruffalo; the (invitation-only) world premiere of The Twilight Saga: Eclipse; and the world premiere of Despicable Me, an animated tale of a villain who attempts to steal the moon with the help of his impish minions.

This year, a new Downtown location features screenings at brand-new L.A. LIVE venues such as Regal Cinemas, NOKIA Theatre and The GRAMMY Museum as well as historic theaters like the Orpheum Theatre and Ford Amphitheatre. Affordable ticket options range from single screenings to packages that include access to the ZonePerfect live.create.lounge, where visitors can interact with film makers and industry insiders.
Your festival ticket or pass will score you discounts at dozens of restaurants, and parking for all events is available for $8 or less. CLICK HERE FOR ALL THE DOWNTOWN DISCOUNTS!
